Agree with you! I have never thought of Memorial Day the same way since working with veterans. The day is such an emotional one for them. They remember very painful experiences and friends lost. I will be praying for the veterans who haven't been able to adjust to life after their service.

I just receive an email from our daughter who along with her family serve in Papua New Guinea. They have been gone four years this time and June first will land on the American soil in LA. I know she will cry her eyes out when they touch down for it's an over whelming feeling to be in the land of free and the brave. Even with all it troubles it's home and your love for it grows when you are gone so long. They have had a hard last year this term...three moves to further along the gospel getting out. Being separated from their 15 year old daughter as she is in boarding school. A very costly medical trip to Australia a few months ago. So much more that makes coming home so sweet. For one year they will be home sharing about the birth of a church in the Yembi village, the need for laborers. As her parents we are of course proud of them for we know all too well the sacrifices they have made to tell others about the sacrifice Jesus made for all. Pray for them, they still need a few more dollars to pay off their medical debt. In fact I think I will do a post on them. Love this post brother, love the freedom God give us no matter where we live.

Awesome summary, Bill. We tend to take so much for granted as Americans and as Christians. Sacrifice is the ultimate act of love.... I'll be pondering that... Thanks.

We'll be just hanging out. And I'm praying for you for Sunday. God bless.

BUT WHAT GOOD IS IT IF WE KNOW THE TRUTH BUT FAIL TO COMMUNICATE IT WITH OUR WORDS AND OUR ACTIONS?

I would think that if we know it, yet don't act on it, then it is no longer a valid truth.

I just stepped away from a very heated debate turned sour because the words that eventually came out not only revealed actual hatred, but a great big lie.

Funny! Love how you share the day-to-day of being a pastor and turn it into a lesson.

Siri has been giving me fits lately with the directions. She always wants me to make a U-Turn. U-Turns are great when you are going the wrong way, but she has me doing them when I'm AT my destination. I think the enemy does this. We are headed the way God wants us to go and the devil says, "Not so fast!"

Hope you can find an interpreter. :-)
