Everyone has a dream. Or should.

I am a big huge fan of Back to the Future (BTTF). All three movies.  I was sad when the trilogy ended and was told no more. No reboots. Nothing. Of course, I think it would be hard to do the original better anyway.

Jo knows if we are ever on the Oldywed Game and she is asked, “What is Bill’s favorite movie?” the only correct answer would be BTTF.” If she got that wrong…well…let’s just say I would not initiate divorce proceedings but the temptation would be strong. 🙂

Over two years ago I met a fantastic couple I am honored to call “friend.” Gary and Nancy found out about my love for BTTF and Gary began talking about a friend of theirs, Andy, who had a DeLorean. This past Wednesday he asked what I was doing Thursday morning; they wanted to take me to see the DeLorean. So we drove about 1/2 hour to an obscure part of Bloomington to see it. After sitting in garages and barns, the car has seen its brighter and better days. It has stuff stacked on top of it and I refrained from saying, “It is an awful, awful, awful mess” as we cleaned it off.

But it was still a DeLorean, and was one of the cars used as a back-up in the movie.

We needed to do some cleaning to get some pictures. The hydraulic lift wouldn’t hold the door up. The tires were flat and didn’t have big sidewalls. 😉

AND I COULDN’T FIT IN IT! I’m 6’5″ and I could not sit in the seat. If I had, I would have needed a crane to get out. As you can see, I dwarf the car (and no that is not photoshopped).  I did look for the flux capacitor but it wasn’t there. 🙂

My shirt was a gift from my daughter 10 years ago which I still wear upon occasion (it is showing its age). It say, “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.”

Thanks Gary and Nancy for the trip through time. It was fun.

I know. Frivolous post. That’s okay. Sometimes you just gotta hang loose. Have a great week.

Have you ever seen something you wanted to see for a long time? Relish it or disappointed?
