I have recently blogged about Adoption here and here. I gotta tell you though, even as I sit down to type this, there is no better testimony to the power of adoption than the comment made here by Jeff. I don’t think it can be said any clearer than Jeff put it.

Adoption may not have the majestic sound or meaning as other big words in the Bible, but it is absolutely beautiful.

  • Justification is a legal term meaning “to be found not guilty.”
  • Sanctification means “to be set apart for a specific purpose.”
  • Propitiation means “all which needed to  be done Christ accomplished.”
  • Redemption means “to be bought from slavery.”
  • Reconciliation means “to be made friends again.”

There are more to throw at you and blow you away…and accomplish nothing. Adoption is often overlooked in the grand scheme of words, but that would be our loss. Adoption carries the ideas of compassion, kindness, grace, and love. Adoption takes a child out of a not so nice situation and places them in a loving home, and it becomes as Jeff says, “A win, win, win for all involved.”

The beauty of adoption sort of dwarfs those other words. Least in my mind. What do you think? (And thanks again, Jeff, for the fantastic comment about adoption).

I wrote here about my Hero. Today is her birthday. Happy Birthday Tami. I love you.
