AWAY

Sunday, June 7th, 2015

I’m leaving Indiana for Ohio today right after our second service. My grandson plays a baseball game tonight at 6:00 and then again Tuesday at 6:00.  Unfortunately, it looks to be the only time I can get away this month (he only plays in June) so I am taking advantage of two games so close together. That also means I will not be in the blogosphere from Sunday to some time on Wednesday. I have chosen to not even have anything planned ahead of time to post. If I did, I would be tempted to spend time on the computer (which I am not even taking). And yes…I am taking my bike. Did you expect anything else? 🙂

In lieu of that, I’d like to encourage you to check out a blog I found recently. You can read about Hole in My Heart Ministries here. To give you a heads up, Laurie struggles with same-sex attraction, but is not defined by it; her husband Matt just recently revealed to her about his struggle with pornography. You can read more at their blog.

I met Craig and Kelly yesterday at a graduation party. Craig is a pastor in Illinois who was taken by a wave and hit his head while on a mission trip. He is almost to the 2 year mark and what a fabulous testimony they have. He has come from having only bicep motion to being able to move his shoulders, both arms, both legs with one stronger than the other, and a faith honed by trials. He reminds me that “rain falls on the just and the unjust” and that being God’s child doesn’t grant immunity to difficulty. The church had been praying for him.

One last thing: fellow blogger, Pam Williams, is taking some time away from blogging. She has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m asking you to pray for her. I’m also asking you to pray for Rick, another fellow blogger. Anyone else we can add?

Have a great week! I leave you with my favorite verse and expression:

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act.” Psalm 37:5
