Slow

Monday, July 6th, 2015

It is quiet around the office this morning. I gave the other two the option of taking last Friday off or today (Monday).

Side bar: I am not the “boss” of the staff or the church. (Did you just feel me shiver when I wrote that? That idea turns my stomach). But Ryan and Diana call me “boss.” Why I don’t know since I call them by their first name, except in staff meeting when I will say, “Okay lady boss. You are first.” 🙂  But for the sake of consistency, I am considered the “boss” of the staff, even though I would be foolish to ever think I am really “the boss.”

Back to the story: they chose today. Friday is a big day for cleaning up loose ends. Diana’s husband is the General Mgr of the Bloomington Harley-Davidson (Jo still says No), and the shop is closed Mondays, so it worked perfectly for her. Ryan has 3 young children and since Tuesday is his regular day off it actually gave him an extra day with his family (and getting a battery for the family vehicle).

So I’m here by myself. I knew as soon as they chose today that I would make my way here in the morning to study. I got a tad behind in my sermon prep two weeks ago when I moved Tami back from Knoxville. I 1/2 caught up last week. As I write this I am almost where I want to be. I will take care of that tomorrow morning. I’ll go to lunch with Jo, Tami and a church friend (it’s her birthday), then go for a bike ride this afternoon.

I like today. I needed to slow down some. How about you?
