Time

Monday, October 12th, 2015

You might think along the lines of Chicago: Does anybody really know what time it is?

You might be one of those “blood moon” people who see it as a time of doom.

You might be an Ecclesiastes (and Byrds) type of person: “There is a time for every season under the sun.”

Or you might be like me this week: short on time. Oh…not anything tragic like I’m going to die this week (at least as far as I know). Lord willing, I will still have 24 hours a day this week to sleep, play and be productive. My time is limited this week…for this blog.

I wrote here about my relationship with my dad.  I did not know at that time my dad would soon be in a hospital then a nursing home, then a hospital, then a nursing home (you get the drift) when that post was released. My brother in PA has kept me posted on how he has been doing and it is pretty much as expected at (almost) age 88. (He has dementia, possibly Lewy bodies). So after hearing he was doing much better and backing off the original idea, that idea is now back on the table. I will be leaving Wednesday for the 9 hour trip to PA to spend maybe an hour or so with my dad on Thursday before heading to Ohio to spend Friday with Braden and then celebrate his 9th birthday with him on Saturday before heading back home to preach this Sunday. So this will be my last post until my weekend sermon post for the week. I have 2 days to do 5 days of work. And while I love the contact…it will be wiser of me to make sure my productivity at work stays focused. That also means I will not be spending much time commenting on your blogs. I will read them but may not say much. I’m sure you understand.

Thanks for understanding. I’ll see you later this week and then more regularly again next week.  And if you think about it, how about saying a prayer for my travels this week. I’d appreciate it.
