Pursuit!! Part 1

Written by cycleguy on November 7th, 2008

I start a new sermon series this Sunday that I am calling PURSUIT! The first one in the series is called Chasing Lions! It is a take-off from Mark Batterson’s book, In the Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. You will find the story in 2 Samuel 23:20-33. Not only is it a fascinating story of an extraordinary man, it also lends itself to some fantastic lessons for today’s Christ-follower. The others in the series are :

  • Chasing Attitude
  • Chasing Contentment
  • Chasing Gratitude

I am looking forward to preaching this series, especially as we approach this season of Thanksgiving.

I also need to mention that this banner was designed by Dan Drewes, a young man who is part of Owen Valley Christian Fellowship.  He is a gifted artist who does amazing pencil, as well as pen and ink drawings.  Dan does this on the side because of his love for art.

  1. If I ever need a good sermon for my files…you are at the top of my list that I’m going to call!

Who Am I Going to Call? BILL!

  4. cycleguy says:

selahV: not sure about that but just pray that it is His words not mine and speaks to someone there. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Tami says:

well, hopefully I can find this one online (btw- the cd mom burned didn’t work). Have fun this week 🙂

    and tell Dan GREAT job!

  6. cycleguy says:

Should be able to. I think some changes are being made. Will tell him that (and also mom)

  7. Heidi Reed says:

If I’m ever in (enter your state) I will come to your church. I tell that to Pete Wilson too (withoutwax). Don’t know if I’ll be in either place any time soon (or ever), but if I am I will come. Good luck today!! If I even think about getting up and speaking to a crowd of people (whatever size) I shut down and go into fetal position sucking my thumb. LOL! I am bold and brazen online. But in real life “Blog Heidi” isn’t much of a speaker. Just a talker. One on one. 😉

Heidi: would love to have you visit any time! It went well yesterday. The spirit was good. The singing was good. The worship was good. The attendance was excellent (200). Only thing suspect was the message. 🙂 As for you speaking..I suspect if push came to shove????
