RUKiddingMe?

Written by cycleguy on March 13th, 2014

Okay…so some people ought to just keep their cotton pickin’ mouths shut. I very seldom comment here about someone’s freedom of speech. I have it (to an extent). You have it (to an extent). Tragically, it is quickly disappearing. When a follower of Christ says something that is not PC, he is branded a “homophobe,” a “hate-monger,” or something inflammatory.

But even I have to speak up about something. Wednesday night Jo told me about an article she read where the radio hosts were ripping on the Disney movie, Frozen. I’m going to perfectly honest: I have not seen it. When it was in our local theaters (and may still be there for all I know), I did not see it. Jo, and our oldest daughter Tami, did. They both loved it. Not one hint was said to me about what I am about to link for you.

Here, please read this.

As I said at the outset, we have the freedom of speech. But AT LEAST know what you are talking about! Please read the last line in the third paragraph if you haven’t already done so. In case you have already closed your browser to the article it says, “Neither Swanson nor Vaughn has seen the movie.” (Highlight mine)

RUKiddingMe? Making a judgment on something you have not seen? What would they think of someone criticizing the Bible for mistakes, but has never read or researched it?

I’m sorry but this kind of nonsense has got to stop! Talk about making followers of Christ look stupid! It is the same type of nonsense leveled against Noah by conservatives. It is also the same type of nonsense leveled against Son of God for saying Satan resembles Obama by liberals.

It is time to stop this kind of madness.Exit soapbox. 🙂

What are your thoughts?

I saw the film and loved it. As usual in this type of movie, I was crying at the end. Homosexuality and bestiality? Really? I am surprised they didn’t mention the snowman character with an obvious phallus for a nose. If they are going to attack, they should be thorough!

  2. I haven’t seen it, but what about Snow White shacking up with seven dwarves.

  3. Jeff says:

I think you got it right in the first paragraph. They sound like a couple of Christ following homophobes.

  4. Zee says:

    *facepalm* homosexuality and bestiality? really!

Adults have forgotten what it’s like to be kids, that’s the problem. Overanalyzing (middle of the word being the root here) at its worst.

I’ve fought a several-year war against those who say Harry Potter promotes black magic and atheism. And you know my views… so… UGH.

WOW. It’s like Christians these days keep trying to find something (at least something little) in order to destroy what other people have enjoyed. That, also, is one of the topics in the Slumber of Christianity… About pleasures and which are good and which are bad…

I facepalmed also Zee. You are right about adults forgetting what it means to be kids. And unfortunately, many Christians are trying to destroy what others enjoy.

  5. Ed says:

HAven’t seen the movie either. But if you haven’t experienced something with your own eyes, you shouldn’t talk as if you have. That’s wrong, and it’s called lying.

  6. floyd says:

I’m with you. If you don’t actually watch or read then you lose the right to comment… not to mention it makes them look like fools…

I’ve read books from politicians that I don’t support so that I could answer or discuss with some intelligence others who do.

    Isn’t that just common sense?

I watched and loved it. I watched it for what it is…a movie. If I believed what they say I guess I would be guilty of beastality (however it’s spelled) because I talk to and love my animals, they are my companions. I was different and a loner and tried to hide from the world so I guess that would make me a homosexual. Ridiculous! They need to be like the rest of us. Go watch the movie and enjoy it or hate it, but leave realizing it is just a movie.

    • cycleguy says:

Well said Linda. I know you loved it. You are also gracing Jo with a copy of it for her belated birthday gift. Reckon I will watch it then. 🙂 Oh…have fun at Disney with your brother this week.

I think if we would save our words and pray for issue such as what Zee country is facing and the families of the ones on the plane they cannot find or hunger in Africa, or….well…I could go on and on. Honest one of the first things that I wanted to get rid of was the news when we came back to the US. Hard to find anything encouraging anymore….everyone has an opinion, everyone on everything and everyone thinks their opinion is what is right. So much time spent on arguing, splitting hairs, reading into everything to make their point count, who cares if we stretch the truth a little or a lot, I have a point and my point it what counts. The more I hear here the more I want to run back to primitive Papua New Guinea. We are so developed here we have too much time on our hands to talk foolishly. Ok, my rant is over. Good post brother.

This is so true: “So much time spent on arguing, splitting hairs, reading into everything to make their point count, who cares if we stretch the truth a little or a lot, I have a point and my point it what counts.” Well said Betty.
