I’ve had a crazy, busy weekend. One of those you see your back as you run into yourself (you know as you are coming and going). It isn’t over yet either. So, I will not lie. I am taking the easy way out for this post.
This past weekend I found this song on two different blogs I read. I love Christmas…a lot. Not because of the gifts, but because it is a celebratory time of the year. In all ways. This song here sort of sums it up.
But that is not the songΒ I am speaking about hearing for the first time. Thanks to Jason and Glynn’s blogs, I heard this song. I know nothing about this band, except what Glynn says. But WOW what a song!
This is what it is all about! Enjoy!!!
So, let me borrow Jason’s question: what is your “go to” Christmas song these days? Who knows? I might hear another one I like.
And yes, Floyd, that first one was for you. π
I don’t really have a go-to Christmas song, however there have been times when I have been blue at Christmas and sung Silent Night to myself.
There are those times…
My favorite is probably “Pretty Paper” written by Willie Nelson and first recorded by Roy Orbison.
Gonna have to check that one out, although neither is my cup of tea. π
I don’t think it’s a country song. It’s just a Christmas song. It was inspired by an interaction of Willie and a paraplegic who was selling pencils and Christmas paper and bows on a sidewalk in Texas in the early sixties. It is simple and speaks to what is right and what is wrong with Christmas. No it is not Draggin the line.
Your Christmas will never be the same without this song added to your playlist…Bless ya bro’!
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas

You have my curiosity Jay. Reckon I will head on over to YouTube.
Memorable is all i can say Jay. π
Ah … I love this, Bill. It made an appearance in my little space last year and will most likely show up again.
Some songs are worth repeating. Often.
Blessings, friend …
I must have been born under a rock since this is the first time I have heard this song. π And yes, some are worth repeating.

My favorite go to Christmas song is, I Call Him Lord. IN fact my son and I are working on it along with a few others to post on my blog and face book. My friends and family are wanting me to do some videos of the songs I love. It’s amazing how love can cover the flaws in an aging voice.
The Christmas Hallelujah is becoming one of my favorites also, love the haunting melody in Hallelujah. Good start Bill to the season.
Will check out your video Betty. Thanks for sharing it. And it never ceases to amaze me what God does in spite of age, no matter what it is. π
The Little Drummer Boy as always been one of my fav’s.
Would not have expected that one from anyone. You are unique! π
Loved it, Bill. This is one of my faves– Audrey Assad’s Winter Snow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpHiAmL8-b0
I’ve heard hers. Believe it is on Chris Tomlin’s Christmas CD. I like it also.
We love Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton.
Never heard it. Can you tell I’m not a fan of Dolly or country music? π You’ve probably heard of Jeff’s.
“Its the Messiah” by Kenny Rogers (don’t know who wrote it). Alone, candle light, full volume, hands raised, tears of joy streaming down my face.
