They got it right!
Unfortunately.
They said we were going to get 2-4″ of snow. They were right-only they missed (I am guessing) by about 4-5″. Snow started about 7:00 Saturday night (on that they were also right) and continued all night and it was still snowing when I woke up at 4:00. Here it is almost 8:00 and it is still snowing. We cancelled our first service last night and were going to have just one. With this much snow and the roads a mess we cancelled the second as well. In my 9 1/2 years here this is only the 2nd time we have had to do so.
The weather is so unpredictable. We had been having a really mild winter until just over a week or so ago. Then BAM! Our kids get two weeks for Spring Break-the first a built in snow day week; the second a set week. Reckon they will lose that first week now. 🙁 But that is Indiana in the winter time. No complaining here. I’ve realized I can’t change one thing about the weather-rain, snow, sleet, ice, sun-so why complain? All it gets is a grumpy attitude.
And I refuse to be a grump. And I am thankful I have a 4×4. 🙂
I called this post Unpredictable1. It was not what I was planning on writing. That will come tomorrow in Unpredictable2.
Does the weather get you down or do you pretty much go with the flow?
After two weeks of it I was ready for it to be over.
I bet. Tami is also I believe.
I am not a “go with the flow” kind of guy. When the weather gets in the way of my plans, I feel a complete loss of control.
I get that way on Sunday morning. 🙂
I don’t like any kind of precipitation unless it is followed by thunder and lightning. I am in love with thunderstorms.
Snow? My least favorite kind of precipitation because it also means that it is cold outside.
And in general, I prefer sunny days (even if it is super-cold) because my body functions better when it’s sunny.
Thunder and lightning? Is that you and Sam? I kid. You guys generally have tons of snow don’t you? I prefer sunny days as well to be perfectly honest. 🙂
Hahaha, interesting analogy, but I hope we’re not like that. (Although, Jesus called James and John “sons of thunder”… so the analogy might work out after all 😀 )
We *USED* to have a ton of snow when I was a kid. Lately, for the past 10 years, we got snow, but not a lot (although that depends on your definition of a lot of snow). However, two years ago, we had an epic snowstorm in March (and I got stuck in it twice – one week in Lviv, in the Western Ukraine, and then a week later in Kyiv, where I live…) – for a couple of days Kyiv was a ghost town with cars and public transport left on the road, people having to walk everywhere (and it a big city!)… I couldn’t get home for three days (stayed over at my friends’ who graciously let me in at almost midnight on the first day)… and then walked 1.5 hours home on the third day. Epic.
I am good with winter weather for quite a while but when it cancels so many family and church events, it starts to get under my skin. I need a bit of sunshine. Today it is blowing snow but the sun is shining and the temps are above 20 so I am good to go! 🙂
I despise having to cancel church events, especially Sunday morning. It has been sunny here all day but supposed to ice all night and in the morning. I like snow. 🙂
Here in Georgia, 2 inches of snow paralyzes us. 🙂 I just go with the flow and enjoy it.

I’m sure it does. That snowstorm last winter about did you guys in. Tami, our daughter, lives in Knoxville and they have the same problem.
It snowed a great deal of the day on Friday here in Dallas. Winter weather usually does not get me down. Snow makes everything a little prettier.
But hot, humid Summer days are another story…
Snow in Dallas just gets to me. 🙂 It should never snow there! But obviously weather is not a respecter of places. We get that hot, humid stuff in August. I like it.
I am able to go with the glow if I don’t have to go out much. It’s beautiful through the windows from a warm house. I am ready for flowers and sunshine . . . but will most likely complain about the heat in August. Trying to do better this year. 🙂
It is nice at times to sit inside where it is warm and say, “Aaaah. this is nice.” I’m ready to ride outside.
Weather can get me down – but mostly the kind of weather with the continual gray blanket of gloom and drizzle. Since we moved to the mountains almost 3 years ago, we get a lot of blue skies. I don’t care if it’s cold, as long as I get a good amount of sunshine.
We have also had a mild winter until this past weekend. It started snowing early, early Sunday morning, and pretty much hasn’t stopped. We have about a foot now. Gotta admit, I do love the snow. Brings out the child in me.
And I do love curling up with a blanket, a fire, a warm cup of coffee, and a good book – or blog visiting!!
I live in Michigan, so I go with the flow. What other choice do I have? I don’t want to be miserable every day of the year.
I found the new snow on Saturday to be almost a dream come true. It’s been such a mild winter that I kept hoping for a big snow. To be in a forest covered in white, with the deer scavenging, the turkeys thinking of romance, and all of the birds happy for a heater in the bird bath and the feeders full of seed, is relaxing. I very much enjoyed it and now on with Spring.
