Happy Blog Anniversary to Me!

blog-anniversary2

One year ago today I wrote this blog.  February 20, 2008 opened a whole new world to me.  I had heard about blogging but when I had rotator cuff surgery and my life slowed down drastically, I began to take a closer look at blogging.  I read tons of them.  I not only enjoyed reading different points of view I also liked the “community” that had developed among bloggers.   Each week I wrote an article for the Sunday bulletin but started feeling like I wanted to write something and also get some feedback.  I liked the idea of interaction, of opposing views, and discussion but little did I realize how much richer my life would become as a result of doing this.  I am not exactly sure when things began to “take off” for me in the others-reading-and-responding department.  I give credit to Steve for that because I think I linked to him and it went from there.  But I can honestly say that I have enjoyed reading your blogs but even more I have enjoyed the comaraderie that has developed.  I have “seen” babies born.  I have “met” guys from Arizona and Texas and found out that we share close to the same taste in music.  I “met” one from the UK and one in Germany (his wife is military).   This woman and her husband form a great team and both are good photographers.  So many more: Anne (Flowerdust).  Carlos (Ragamuffin). Scot (Reson8). Rick.  Robin.  Scott.  Jason.  Ken.  Jerald. David. Camey.  Kary. SelahV. (Forgive me if I left you off.  Nothing intended)  Some of them don’t even know I exist but still I benefit from reading and even commenting at times.   I have so many on my blogroll that I have thought about deleting some but don’t even know where to start.

So…to all of you: thanks for stopping by my blog.  Thanks for making me think, laugh, cry, listen, and express my thoughts.  I have no clue how long I will continue blogging (I don’t twitter of Facebook or text) and may find myself a dinosaur soon.  Who knows?  But until then I hope to continue blogging, meeting new people, holding interest, having discussions, and just enjoying my “community.”  Today is my day off and I am also recovering from yesterday’s surgery so please feel free to comment (Anniversary money can be sent to…).  I will get to it as soon as I am able.

Rick: Reckon I will remember that for now on. Thanks for stopping by.

  11. Camey – he must have written this while on his pain meds… 😉

Seriously, though, happy blogiversary, Cycleguy’s Spin! Bill, I truly appreciate your views, active discussion, as well as your prayers. You, too, have enriched my life and I am grateful to have “met” you in this “community. Speedy recovery, my fellow rockin’-4-Jesus friend!

    Will

    P.S. Thanks for the shout-out!

Will: Pain meds? What are they? After that last incident of passing out I decided that was enough. I took none this time. God was good in the pain area. I haven’t even taken any Ibu or Advil. I hate taking anything.

On the other subject: thanks. And I am honored to have “met’ you. We will have a good reunion in heaven someday. That will be cool!

Happy blog anniversary!! And thanks for the link (is that called link love?)!

Blogging is interesting and strange: the writing, the reading the feeling of community; everything you say. Seems one has to develop the habit, though.

    Best

    Ivan
