Some of you are new to my blog while others have disappeared. Hmmm is that saying something I should hear? 🙂 Anyway, for you preacher types it is not hard to look at the title to this post and see an acronym for a sermon developing. Actually, on January 15th, I asked for help here. My original plan was to preach a series of four messages using each letter of W.I.L.D. as the starting point. With all that happened at the church I pastor over the past 8 months or so it took a back burner. But during my current series on Renewing Your Spiritual Passion (Say Yes!) I decided to include a message that used this acronym and use it for just one message. That sermon will be preached this Sunday as the kick-off to our 5th Anniversary Celebration. I will tell you more about that tomorrow but for now I wondered if any of you-both older readers and the newer ones-would like to take a guess at what each of the letters mean. I suggest perhaps you read the former post highlighted here to get an idea of what I am looking for. One of the ideas for the letters was and still is the same: Dangerous. I will post tomorrow what the letters stand for and about our upcoming celebration. (I know you are waiting with baited breath for this news!) 🙂
What I Like Doing, Where Idiots Live and Drive, ….. Not too sure I can wait for tomorrow!
I would be cheating if I were to “guess”. In any case… I’ll let others have some fun with this one.
Looking forward to this Sunday!
Only one thing to say Jim: 🙂 However, I can give you a clue: you are off base. Ha.
Ryan: yep would be cheating since you already know. And…if people take a look at the website they would know also. What shameless promotion I just gave! 🙂
Here’s my stab at the letters:
W-wellspring(his wellspring of love & life overflow)
I-impart(He imparts his wisdom & directions on how we should live)
L-listen(He desires that we listen to Him)
D-of course dangerous(I would have never guessed this, but praying dangerous prayers makes total sense)
I will be waiting with bated breath to see what the letters actually stand for because you will have undoubtedly put words with them I hadn’t thought of & it will make perfect sense! 🙂
W
Windswept—Acts 2:—The Beginning of the End (God breathed—God driven) Life from love
I
In their natural habitat—Acts 2:42-47 (Life to its fullest—in community) Living with love
L
Lunatic—Acts 3:1-11 (Lame to Leaping) Crazy Love
D
Disorderly—Acts 4 (Living on the edge) Risky Love
This is from Paul Stebelton, a friend of mine, sent via email.
Jan: Not sure if it will make perfect sense but tomorrow’s post will have them. 🙂 Thanks for trying. Your words are actually pretty good.
Paul: Good words that have never been mentioned before. The “L” probably fits me rather well though. 🙂 Thanks for the input.
