Are you like I am sometimes? I am grateful for what God has blessed me with but often take it for granted? I think of the 10 lepers whom Jesus sent on their way and only one returned to say thanks for being healed. The sad part is that he was a Samaritan, a foreigner, who expressed his thanks. How sad it is when I/you take for granted what God has blessed us with and those who have so little express their gratitude so freely.
After last Sunday’s video by Louie Giglio on How Great Is Our God (which went over very, very well), I am taking OVCF on a thanksgiving journey through Psalm 145. The message will stand on its own but serves as a good follow-up to last week’s message. I use messages like these to help focus myself on all I have and the kind of God I serve. Psalm 145: 21 says, “My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.” That is like David’s last will & testament. If he said nothing else in his long life, these words would be a fine legacy for future generations. May this thanksgiving be a time that we begin to do just what David suggests. What about you?
Thanks to Dan Drewes for the banner.
This may be a good time for a family to sit down and list all they have to be thankful for even if this year has been rough, I’m sure the list of what to be thankful for would out do a list of problems/setbacks.
Exactly the point Danay’e. I am hoping that families and individuals will do just that. Thanks for the comment.
A very much needed reminder this week. So much to be grateful for and yet so often I forget that or push it aside and focus on what’s wrong or what I don’t have. Thanks
Thanks Lanette for the comment. I hope it does serve as a reminder.
Just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I haven’t forgotten you guys and just spent some time catching up on your blog.
