Give More

It has been a fun month so far in our Advent Conspiracy Challenge.  I have purposely not counted or had counted any of the money we have collected although the secretary did tell me how much cash has been given so far (but I have forgotten the amount).  We are going at it from several different angles.  Our JAM group (Wednesday afterschool program for grades 1-6) is collecting money.  I have set an old pump made of wood that has a “collecting basin” on a table for people to put money in it.  Of course, people can give through the regular offering on Sunday.  The past two weeks we have shown videos from Advent Conspiracy and Living Water International. This Sunday I plan to have two different glasses of water up front with me.  One filled with “water” from a local pond (gotta get there before it freezes again) and one from the Culligan unit in the office.  I about grossed some of the JAM kids out a couple of weeks ago with this same display.  The comparison factor is an easy-to-use object lesson.  The themes of the past two weeks-Worship Fully & Spend Less-have been well-received.  This week’s message is Give More. Without giving too much away the Scripture is from John 3:16-17.  Any ideas who the focus might be?  🙂  If you can guess it, you just might be able to figure who my favorite subject is to talk about.

For another perspective on Advent Conspiracy, my oldest daughter sent me this link and I encourage you to click on it and read the article.

Funny thing is you have mentioned the Advent conspirtacy but I did not know what it was until yesterday when I read something off Yahoo from I think Time magazine. I love the idea. This could be the focus of next year for sure.

Off the subject – some of the word to type to stop the spam have been funny this week – I now need to type fatal hemlock. Makes me smile.

Jim: It is a great focus! Check out the link from Tami I mention. It is probably that Time article. Fatal hemlock huh? Not a prophecy I am sure. 🙂

Wow. The posts that I could get to on my school computer were all very good, insightful, made me stop & think. I am certainly a person who has had more than second chances, that’s for sure. I’m so glad my heavenly father continues to give me chances time & time again….loved the Swindoll post as well. There is a lot to stop & think about during this time of year. Thanks for the insights Bill!!!
