I looked up potpourri in the dictionary and it says it is “a miscellaneous collection.”  Since the weekend is so slow in blogland, I thought I would use this post to include a potpourri of ideas that I have collected and thought about.

Here is a post from a man who is well-known, well-trusted and even keeled.  I think he nails it here.  See if you don’t agree.

The sports all news seems to have been dominated by Tiger’s nightmare.  I for one am tired of seeing him being dragged through the mud.  Enough is enough!  Take a look at this post to get a good view of the whole scenario.  it is time to stop shooting and start praying if you haven’t already done so.

I suspect with the first of the year will come the annual “I am going to read through the Bible” resolutions by many.  I have already mentioned that the fellowship I pastor will be using the ESV One Year Bible.  I found this post by a man I respect to be very insightful.

I, for one, am looking forward to reading this book.  You can also check it out here.  I suspect it will be challenging and controversial in some way.

When I saw the title of  this post I thought “porn.”  But after I read it I wondered if he had been reading my mail or had gotten inside my head.

Writing a blog or thinking of writing one or wondering why it may not be read by anyone other than your own family (and even they miss it)? I know from experience!    Keep up to date on this one as he writes about 10 reasons why your blog might stink.  He has posted 3 up to this point.  I love his blog!

Bad doctrine/teaching must be brought to the front so it can be exposed.  This blog and this blog do just that.  Feel free to comment on their blog or here.

And finally on a more serious note:  several blogs have posted this report.  I will direct you to this one. Here is another pastor in need of your prayers.  There is an update so please read the next post.   Please keep this pastor and his family in your prayers.   Speaking as a pastor…I would suggest that you stop right now and pray for your pastor and others you know.

Well, I went against one of the rules of writing a blog.  Well, maybe two.  Too long and too many links.  If it is too long or there are too many links I hope you will visit back several times until you catch them all.  (No, that is not a ploy for more traffic.  Sheesh, would I stoop that low?  I’m not going to incriminate myself!)    You all have a fantastic weekend and I pray that you have a memorable time in worship with your respective fellowships.
