News of a Baby

Written by cycleguy on December 20th, 2010

No…not THAT baby!  Another one.   Liam Michael Drewes, aka Luke Skywalker according to his father, entered our world on December 20, 2010  weighing in at 8lbs. 10 oz, 20″ long.  He was born with tattoos and bearing a light saber.  🙂  Dan & Alissa Drewes are the proud parents and you can read about this baby’s significance here. (Go to the end).  In case you don’t know, Dan is my illustrator and banner artist.  You can see more of his stuff here.

Another baby entered the world also.  Yes, it is THAT baby!!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17

Wrapped in two verses is the Gospel stripped down to its barest essence.  God came wrapped in the flesh of a baby (Check out John 1: 14).  The purpose was to bring salvation to all by His ultimate death on the cross (verse 17).  Sad that so many people stop at verse 16.  They miss the completion!

Here is my ode to both babies.  I know the latter is the only one who fills this bill but after a long time coming Liam’s grateful parents are surely singing the chorus as well.  Sure looks like one of ZZ Top has joined them though!  😛 I am not much of a country fan but this gives me duck bumps.

IMHO I  think Richard Sterban (bass) and Joe Bonsall (tenor) shine but please watch it to the end to see the reaction of Bill Golden. May his tribute be ours.  Blessings to the King of King and Lord of Lords!!  May He come and reign…first in our hearts and then forever.

I will tell Dan you said that Ryan. 😛 However, does the fact that I did not know that have any significance, other than the fact that I know absolutely nothing about Star Wars? Hmmmm

  7. Congrats to the new parents…it’s a joyous time! Blessings on you Bill!

    Hi Bill,
Congratulations to Dan and Alissa!! The miracle of another birth of a baby! Another precious human being that God loves.

The Hallelujah Chorus is wonderful. What an amazing composition and the Oak Ridge Boys do an amazing job of singing it too.

    Amen, Come Lord Jesus.
