Milestones

Written by cycleguy on June 1st, 2014

This is graduation time!

Our high school graduation was moved back a week or two because of the snow we had this past winter. They had built in an extra week for Spring Break to use if snow happened. It happened. Not only did it happen; it REALLY HAPPENED! School gets out on June 9th it happened so often. Maybe next year…

The church has 5 high school graduates and 2 college grads. We honor them with recognition and some gifts for their accomplishments. We also ask them what they plan to do in their future. I really disliked (nicer than saying hated) high school, but love the fact others have.

In June, Lord willing, Jo and I will have a milestone. We will celebrate 41 years of marriage. Nothing important like the 10th, 25th or 50th, but still a milestone. Hard to believe I put up with she put up with me that long.

This post is a milestone for me. You are reading #2000. I have been getting gobs of spam lately. Here. My email. So I have initiated the practice of going to my Dashboard first to delete all spam comments. It was then I noticed how many posts I have written. That was another reason I was so shoddy posting last week. I wanted my #2000 to be my first post for June. Not for any special reason except my mind works weird in that way. 🙂

I had no clue when I started blogging (here’s my first) how long I would blog. I gotta admit: I’m sort of surprised myself. But blogging is worthless, in my book, if it doesn’t involve others and their comments. It is one-sided at best. I like dialogue-good and bad. I welcome comments. I so appreciate all who have come and gone since February 20 of ’08. And I most definitely appreciate my current group of people who make my life richer and interesting.

Thanks for being part of Post #2000. You are a history maker!  🙂  Okay at least for me you are.

Tomorrow’s post will include another Second Chance story. See you then!

Bill, 2000? That is a big honkin’ number huh? I am still a few posts away from #MM myself. Congratulations. I am glad that we have gotten to know each other a bit through our sites. Blessings.

2,000 – Wow! Way to go Pastor Bill! I have enjoyed reading many of them.

Hopefully this comment won’t show up as spam.

My daughter is graduating from high school on June 8th and will be flying the coop to go to a Jr. College in College Station, TX with the hopes of being able to afford the mighty Texas A&M in a couple of years. It is quite a milestone for her. I’m very proud of her – she is quite talented.

By the way, every year of marriage is a milestone – Congratulations!

i remember DJ. You were one of the early ones. You were living in Arizona at the time building houses with your dad. Trying to start a church out of your home using Lifechurch (Craig’s ministry). Then moving to Texas. So glad to hear about Jenna moving and working toward A&M. Hope you and Cindy, Joe and Stanimir (if still living with you) are doing ok. I still have your family Christmas picture by my computer. 🙂

That’s right, I found you and your blog through Craig’s website and blog. That’s one good thing to come out of our time in Thatcher, AZ.

Thank you for remembering us and saying a prayer for the people in that picture! We all need it – there’s teenagers living in our house. Enough said!
Stanimir has graduated already and has moved on to pursue his next steps in life.

        Here’s to another 2,000

Congrats! I’m not sure how many posts I’ve published, but I agree with you, blogging is worthless unless without others. Making relationships, enter acting with others, that’s what makes blogging worth all the time and effort.
