A few weeks ago I wrote about the arrival of a baby to a family in the church. His presence sort of lights things up around him. He is a joy to see…even though he hasn’t got a fat clue what all the fuss is about (except when he is fussing then he knows all too well why).
We place a lot of emphasis on the birth of a baby…and well we should. It is a monumental event for a select group of epare the house. We attempt to prepare the siblings (if there are any). We announce it to whomever will listen that a baby is on the way. Mom proudly displays the “baby bump,” hoping people will see it as such and not a significant weight gain. We used to see T-shirts with “BABY” and an arrow pointing toward it, while the father would wear one which said, “I’m the dad.” Today not so much. That’s old school. Now we have Twitter, FB. Pinterest, and all the other social media to use.
This Sunday my sermon will be focusing on the courtship of Joseph and Mary and the whole “divorce thing” mentioned in Matthew 1. I will also be talking about the Virgin Birth and its importance. There is a lot of excitement surrounding Christmas. I hope to share that this week.
Come, Lord Jesus, Come …
Praying for you as you prepare this week’s sermon, Bill.
Thanks Linda. I truly appreciate it.
Praying for you, Bill.
thank you my friend.
Missed reading your post brother, choosing lately to now surf so much..needed a break. Will pray for your message though.
Prayer is needed Betty. Thanks.
The entire episode fascinates me.
yep me too.
That sounds exciting, Bill, for it’s a story that never grows old, only grows us in wonder.
Blessings!
I hope to convey that Martha. I never tire of hearing it or speaking it.
Wish I could hear that message. I’d love to hear how you present it.
It will be at ovcf.org as a podcast after the sermon on Sunday (if you are interested).
