#Vaxxer#Non-Vaxxer

I read a blog written by James Emery White that I want to share with you. But before I do I want to say something. I will go on record as saying that I thought COVID was a passing thing. I will even admit to saying that as the election drew near that it was too politicized, that one side was using it as a weapon against another side. There was tons of misinformation floating around. I went 9 months avoiding the “plague” and it finally caught up with me on December 21 when I tested positive. But it wasn’t done. After an incident on Christmas morning (which I will defer on telling you), I literally went from 223 pretty solid pounds honed on a bicycle and weights at the Y, and in three weeks I was looking straight in the mirror at a 175 pound refugee body.  It had attacked my digestive system, ruining my ability to keep food in or down. After a long and eventful 3-4 weeks which included several surgeries, I am on the mend. I am riding by bike again and working out at the Y.

On April 19th Jo and I get our second vaccine.

I worked out. I took tons of immune support vitamins. I exercised. I thought I was “bullet proof” with all that I did. But I still got COVID, worse than anyone in my personal space. Even Jo who has compromised health (diabetes) did not experience what I did.

To be honest, I still didn’t want to take the vaccine. I was concerned about being kicked backwards by it. I also thought since I had COVID I thought, “I’m good.” But then I started thinking about the example I am setting. I thought about how the folks will feel more comfortable around me knowing I am vaccinated.  So I chose to get the Moderna vaccine. Time will tell its end results.

But I know there is a lot of misinformation still floating around…about the vaccine…about COVID. So I am simply asking you to read James Emery White’s blog about the vaccine. Click here to read.

Maybe it will help you make a decision.

  1. Since I’m fully vaccinated, I don’t need to read this article, Bill, but I certainly hope it will inspire others who may be on the fence to get their shots.
    Blessings!

We have now passed two weeks post-second shot. Remembering the Salk and Sabin vaccines for polio (the sugar cube with the red dot!), we both knew we would get the COVID vaccine. Plus, we were in the high-risk category (because of age). It seems to hit men harder than women; we have a friend right now on a ventilator, and the outlook is not good. He fit the high risk group, too. His wife got very mild symptoms.

Strange you would say that Glynn. I would be interested in knowing what the stats and findings are with that idea. Sorry to hear about your friend. Glad you and your wife are doing well.

I think we may have to agree to disagree on this one.

I have no plan on taking any of the mRNA vaccines any time soon. If my risks were greater from Covid, perhaps, but it is not. I personally just don’t feel there was adequate time to see the long term effects.

I feel the author of the article does a disservice to “White Evangelical Christians” and should probably.

I am not against vaccines, I am not an anit-vaxxer… I am simply making a personal decision for what I allow in my body and weighing the risks of the covid virus against the risks of a vaccine that has not seen the long term effects…

Note, Johnson and Johnson vaccine was “Paused” this week… and it wasn’t even the mRNA… it was a viral vector type vaccine…

I also watched nearly 3 hours of FDA board LIVE on stream while they discussed emergency approval recommendation of Moderna vaccine. It was by far not a unanimous decision. These are people that had all the statistics, all the information provided and yet still had questions…

Not trying to dissuade your readers or convince people not take it… just simply saying that I would recommend weighing your risk and the risk of those around you. If you are ok with the risk, then proceed.
But don’t allow some article or “peer pressure” to determine that for you. Educate yourself.
There will likely come a time where I may take an mRNA vaccine… The day is simply not here for me just yet.

If I hadn’t had the “others” issue, there is a good possibility I might not have taken it Ryan. I tried to think of my place and position and how it affected others. I respect your opinion and thoughts because I know they are well thought out. In the long run it still comes out to a personal decision unless forced by work. And that is a whole ‘nother ball of wax
