Link Love

Written by cycleguy on August 8th, 2010

I want to start my week of blogging by doing something different.  When I have done this before I have usually waited until the end of the week to do so.  I don’t really know why but I do know that others do that as well.  Over the past few weeks/months I have come across some really good blog posts and have “met” some new bloggers.  I would like to draw attention to them.

I am really, really proud of this first one.  She has been a part of my life for 35 years now and recently I became aware that she has two blogs.  Not one but two.  If you are a guy you probably won’t give one rip about one of them since it is a stamping blog.  But the other I have encouraged her to write more.  She will now shoot me for telling you her age but my oldest daughter, Tami, has a blog entitled Delighting in Him.  You can read her latest post here.  I am uber proud she is my daughter and I am extra proud for this post.  Slam her post with comments so she has to respond.  😛

This is one of my newer blogs to follow.  I think he commented on one of mine or I saw his name on someone else’s (not really sure) but I have certainly enjoyed his posts.  His posts on A Band of Brothers has been exceptional.

Another new one I have begun to follow is here.  Jason is planting a church in Juneau, Alaska.  Alaska is one of the places I really want to visit but that is not why I am linking to him.  😀  He writes meaningful posts.  His wife, Andrea, wrote one that knocked the socks off me here just last week.

Probably about three weeks ago I came across this man’s blog.  I love its variety and richness.  There is so much I could never tell it to you adequately so I encourage you to visit.

Another new one that I saw posting on other blogs so I decided to follow up on some of his writings is here.  Just to show you this man’s heart: when I had posted this blog and this blog the past week, he offered some opposite thoughts.  When I asked him to share them in my comment section he would not because he wanted to keep it “private.”  I respected that.

One never knows what age a blogger is or what his/her likes/dislikes are until maybe down the road some.  Such is the case with this young man.  I call him a young man for several reasons: 1) he is and 2) he just celebrated his 21st birthday. Check his blog out here. His reflection of his 21st birthday shows some great insight into life and a willingness to be used by God.

It says I have 63 subscriptions in my Google Reader that I check whenever a new post is entered.  Many of them are in my blogroll.  The ones I have included today are new ones I am just beginning to read.  I hope you will take the time to check out these and those on my blogroll.  My life is richer because of my reading.  And thanks for checking out my blog.  I am honored that you would take a few moments out of your day to do so.

  12. cycleguy says:

Have a good Monday also robin. Good to hear from you.

  13. Tami Grandi says:

There’s a reason why I never told you about my stamping blog- it’s not something you are interested in. As for the other- well, it was really just a forum for some thoughts that I had so it wasn’t necessarily one I shared with others. I’m stewing on another post right now- about how life is fleeting (in light of the recent events in Afghanistan). I tend to stew on my thoughts before I post anything which is why my posts are not daily.

And as for my age- eh- it is what it is… 🙂

  14. cycleguy says:

Tami: Aaahhh you would be right about my interest in the stamping blog. 😮 Stew away but can’t wait to see what you have to say in light of your “familiarity” with it. And if you are 35 that makes me…aaahhh ….old! Love you much.

  15. Ani says:

Thanks for sharing. I know all of them except your daughters and Scotts. But I’ve read Scotts comments and it always blows me away. I have to visit his blog. I tried to comment on your daughters blog but it’s not possible because I don’t have a Google account and I am not intended to get one as long as it is necessary. I do like her post though. It’s amazing she lost that much weight and I liked the parallel she made with the scripture and her life.

  16. cycleguy says:

Thanks Ani. I will make sure she knows your thoughts. Appreciate you taking the time to write. I copied and pasted your thoughts to her blog under my name. 🙂

  17. Ani says:

Bill, thanks for posting my comment on her blog! You are a good dad. And smart too. 🙂

  18. cycleguy says:

Ani: I hope and thanks on the first. it is questionable on the 2nd. 😀

  19. Jim F. says:

  22. cycleguy says:

Jim: thanks. Good to have you back!

  23. cycleguy says:

Michael: thanks. I had several to choose from but chose the newer ones. 🙂

  24. cycleguy says:

Jay: You’re welcome. Honored that I “know” you. Proud ain’t the word. 😛

  25. Cameyg says:

I definitely checked out Tami’s blog and commented. Of course, I have gotten to “know” that particular amazing daughter of yours and Jo’s even more so through facebook. You know? The foreign land in which you have no intention of going.. 🙂

Look forward to checking out the others. Way to love on ppl, Bill. Hmmm… Sounds like someone else we know who walked this earth many years ago but still walks it today through various means.

  26. Cameyg says:

PS: I do “know” Scott through various online venues. He makes my life richer as well. Thankful you two have connected.

  27. Tom Raines says:

Thanks, I look forward to checking these out. I see why you have to get up at 3:00 to give everyone a visit. Thanks for your support of everyone. So thankful Robin introduced me to your blog!

  28. cycleguy says:

Camey: she is an amazing daughter. thanks. Thanks for the compliment also. I look forward to hearing more from Scott.

  29. cycleguy says:

Tom: I only visit when they post a new one. LOL Sometimes I go back to check those I commented on earlier to see if there is a response. 🙂 I too am glad that robin introduced me to your blog. My life is richer because of your perspective.
